The world of social media can be so overwhelming. Which platform should I be focusing on first? What type of content should I share? How do I grow my followers? Before you get to the heavy stuff, I have 3 simple social media tweaks I want you to complete first. Because if your website and profiles don’t look good, new readers aren’t going to stick around to check out the content!
Here are 3 must-do social media tweaks you should do today!
- Make sure your site and social media pages look good on mobile. Over half of all website traffic is now coming from a mobile device, so it’s more important than ever to have a mobile responsive website. Take a minute to check your website on your mobile phone and tablet devices and see if they are easy to read and easy to navigate. Can a new visitor easily find your email? Your packages and rates? Your “About me” page? Or any other important information on your site? Also check your social media pages – your business profiles on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. Does everything look clean and is the information easy to understand?
- Make sure your business information on your Facebook Page is correct. Make sure your Facebook Page is linked to your personal profile, and that it is PUBLIC. If you need help, here’s a tutorial.
- Refresh your profile picture on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. It should be a professional picture of you, or an image from a wedding you worked at or a product you sell. Logos as profile pictures are fine, but if you are the face of your business, your face should be on your social profiles!
Checking these 3 items should take no more than 10 minutes total, so you have no excuses. Get it done today so tomorrow you can focus on brilliant content!

I know logos aren’t exactly warm and fuzzy, but I prefer to have something recognizable as a profile photo on my business pages and other social accounts.
